With more than 4000 students, FH JOANNEUM is a young university of applied sciences. FH JOANNEUM has an international network of partner institutions in different educational sectors and also within several industries. With its highly specialized degree programmes in the areas of international business and technology, information engineering, mobility, media and design, social services and public health, FH JOANNEUM is one of Austria's leading Universities of Applied Sciences. The degree programmes are offered at university level and aimed at a professional training on a scientific basis.

Sustainability on the Campus of the FH JOANNEUM is focused on four levels:

1. Our facility management has obained for many years the national eco-certification “Ecoprofit” by focusing on the reduction of waste, the use of energy and other environmentally relevant aspects.
2. On the organizational level, FHJ promotes health in the work place through many general and individual offers.
3. On the educational level, there is a rising number of study programs focusing on sustainability in several social and technical fields.
4. Finally, there plenty of initiatives by different stakeholders on the campus, such as students, lectures and organizational staff, to promote and implement aspects of sustainability at the campus.

Over all, there is still a long way to go to become a “sustainable campus”, but the university is proceeding in the right direction… Up to now, FHJ has been twice awarded with the National “Sustainability Award” for Austrian Universities, and nominated several times.
